Privacy Policy
1. Information Stored on Your Device
PillShot keeps the information you enter and generate on your device so the app can work. We do not upload your medication schedules, dose events, or photos to servers we operate for the purpose of running the Service. We do not use your information to track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not sell your information. (Opening links you choose—such as a privacy policy URL in the app—or sending email with your mail app uses your device’s normal system behavior and is outside data storage for the Service itself.)
The following types of information may be stored locally on your device by the app:
- Medication schedules and settings: Schedules and settings you create or update (such as your photo retention period). Stored only on your device.
- Medication event information: Event status (pending/completed/skipped, etc.) and scheduled dates/times. Stored only on your device.
- Photos: Images you capture using the in-app camera when you record a dose as taken. Stored on your device; not transmitted to us or to other parties by the app for the Service. The app does not access your Photo Library to import images.
- Local notifications: The app uses iOS local notifications to show reminders. Scheduling uses on-device APIs; the app does not send your reminder content to external servers we operate for that purpose.
- Location: The Service does not read or store precise location (e.g., GPS).
2. Purposes of Use
The app uses the information stored on your device for the following purposes:
- Displaying medication reminders: We show local notifications at the times you specify.
- Displaying Today and History: We display screens based on medication data stored on your device.
- Managing the photo retention period: We delete photo files based on your configured retention period.
3. Sharing with Third Parties and Service Providers
Medication data and photos you create in the app are not transmitted to servers we operate for use as part of the Service. Processing stays within iOS standard capabilities (on-device storage, local notifications, camera capture you initiate). We do not sell your information or share it with data brokers for advertising.
4. Storage on Your Device
The Service may store the following information on your device:
- Medication schedules and settings: Stored within the app’s sandbox on your device.
- Medication event information (pending/completed/skipped, etc.): Stored within the app’s sandbox on your device.
- Photos: Stored in the app’s storage area on your device. Photos may be deleted depending on your configured retention period and your actions.
5. Data Retention
The Service retains data according to the following policy:
- Medication schedules and medication event information: Stored on your device. Your device data is erased when you delete a schedule or delete the app (uninstall it).
- Photos: Photos are automatically deleted after the configured retention period has passed, starting from the time the medication was completed (or the event status changed). Photos may also be updated when you retake them. In addition, photos may be deleted when you change an event’s status (for example, returning it to “pending”). History records may remain.
6. Opt-Out
You can stop further data storage and local notification display by uninstalling the Service. You can also adjust the photo retention period in the app’s settings.
7. Security
The Service takes reasonable security measures to protect data stored on your device. For example, we store data in the app’s sandbox area to help prevent unauthorized access.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for a general audience and is not offered as a service specifically for children under 13. We do not knowingly seek information from children for transmission to our servers. Information entered in the app remains on the device and is not uploaded to us as part of the Service; we do not engage in marketing specifically directed at children under 13. Because data stays on your device, we cannot remotely look up or erase a specific user’s data for you. If you are a parent or guardian and have questions about this policy or how to manage data on the device (for example, uninstalling the app or deleting schedules in the app), you may contact us at the email address in Section 11 for general information and guidance. In some jurisdictions, the age at which a person can consent to the processing of personal information may be 16 or older, and parental consent may be required.
9. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating this page. Please review this page periodically to stay informed about any updates. If you continue to use the Service, you will be deemed to have agreed to the updated policy.
10. Consent
By using the Service, you consent to the handling of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy (including any updates).
11. Contact
